These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Detectorist World. By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Website purpose

Detectorist World provides metal detecting content, detector reviews, buying guides, comparison pages, directory listings, club and supplier information, location guides, legal information, finds-related resources and related editorial content.

Information only

Content on this website is provided for general information only. It is not legal, financial, professional, safety or regulatory advice. Metal detecting laws, land access rules, permits, reporting duties and local restrictions can vary by country, state, county, landowner and site type.

You are responsible for checking the rules that apply to you before detecting, including landowner permission, protected sites, local byelaws, the Treasure Act, Portable Antiquities Scheme guidance, export rules, US federal and state laws, private land rules, parks rules and any other relevant local requirements.

Accuracy of content

We try to keep information accurate and useful, but we do not guarantee that all content is complete, current or error-free. Detector specifications, prices, availability, retailer offers, club details, supplier services and legal guidance can change.

Detector reviews and recommendations

Reviews, scores, comparisons and recommendations reflect our editorial judgement at the time of publication or update. They may consider hands-on experience, manufacturer specifications, user feedback, availability, value, features and suitability for different detecting conditions.

A product being listed, reviewed or linked does not mean it is suitable for every detectorist or every location. Always check the latest product details and retailer terms before buying.

We do not currently run display advertising.

User submissions and directory listings

If you submit a club, supplier, event, claim, correction, review, comment, image, message or other content, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, lawful, not misleading, and that you have the right to submit it.

You give us permission to use, edit, format, publish, moderate, remove and display submitted information on Detectorist World and related project materials. We may reject, edit or remove submissions where we believe they are inaccurate, outdated, promotional, unlawful, harmful, duplicate, low quality, or not suitable for the site.

Do not submit private contact details, images, location data, finds information, landowner details or sensitive information unless you have permission to share it publicly.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the website. This includes attempting to hack, scrape, overload, copy at scale, spam, reverse engineer, interfere with security, upload malicious code, impersonate others, or use the site for unlawful, abusive or misleading purposes.

Intellectual property
